Dear Dr. Smith
Dear Dr. Smith,
Is there a time when Divorce is the best resolve?
My Dear Friend
Yes, there is a time when divorce is the best resolve. That is however, depending on several factors.
a. The spouse is committing adultery and refusing to stop
b. The spouse is physically abusive and will not get help for his weakness
c. Abandonment or prolong separation from spouse and refused to reconnect despite personal and or professional intervention
d. In and out of jail as a result of drug use or trafficking, prostitution or any form of immorality and refrained from getting help.
e. Refusal to grant conjugal rights to spouse.
f. Any act of bestiality or refusal of spouse to have sex unless it’s anal sex.
Please note that on any or all of these points before a divorce is initiated, a separation may be invoked to see if the guilty spouse will change. Also, a decision to divorce should not be just a personal decision; one should pray diligently and also seek counsel with his/her pastor and professional counselor. As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I offer my help, if there is anything I can do to help save your marriage, feel free to reach out to me and ask for help.
God bless and I will be praying for you.
