The Sabbath School department of Beulah Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church presented an award to Lawrence Major, supervisor of the Canarsie Park on behalf of his staff.  During its annual Community Guest Day the church acknowledges an organization or individual who renders public service to the community.

This year the church has decided to recognize the workers at the Canarsie Park for their tireless job in keeping the park attractive, accommodating, and litter free. The Sabbath School department disclosed to the recipient of the award that the church has been making use of the park for physical exercises, recreational and evangelistic programs. Pastor Corben Crew presented the award on behalf of the church.
