On the masturbation debate here is my take, It is either you "masturbate or commit fornication.

(See Question # 101a. to understand this follow up question)

Dear Facebook Friend,

Your take on masturbation is flawed at best. A hungry mother with her baby to feed does not have a choice between committing armed robbery and starving her baby to death. It's not one or the other, both ends of the totem pole are wrong. She has to fine another alternative, maybe work, beg, borrow, sell something, etc., but certainly not to starve the baby to death and not to commit armed robbery. The same is true for your take, it's not an either or.

Masturbation has it’s negative, emotional, psychological, physical, psychosocial, and spiritual consequences and fornication is outright defiance against the word of God. It is not a choice between one or the other. One does not choose between herpes and syphilis, between rape and genital mutilation, between stealing and lying, or between hate and envy. These are no choices at all. They are all flawed starting points. Therefore, we have to find more elevating, enhancing, enriching and inspiring choices.

“Finally… whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and it there be any praise, think of these things.” (Phil 4:8) God bless.
