Delegates to the 2nd Regular Quadrennial & 55th Regular Constituency Session of the Greater New York Conference of Seventh-day Adventists votes to reelects President, votes new Executive Secretary, and votes Interim Treasurer.

The Greater New York Conference held its second regular quadrennial and 55th regular constituency session on Sunday, June 1, at Camp Berkshire in Wingdale, New York. Alvin Kibble, vice president for the North American Division presented the devotion. The quorum to open the session was declared with 569 delegates.

Eight new churches were voted into the conference's sisterhood of churches and six churches were disbanded.

As a result of the session, the following officers, departmental directors, and ethnic ministries coordinators were voted to serve the Greater New York Conference for the next quadrennial: 

President: G. Earl Knight
Executive Secretary: Henry Beras
Interim Treasurer: Carlos Gonzalez

Carlos Gonzalez was voted interim treasurer to serve no more than six months to allow the executive committee to complete a search for a new treasurer.

Gerson Santos was acknowledged by the Greater New York Conference administrators for his service to the conference as executive secretary. He moves on to serve full-time in his duties as director of the Adventist Church's Urban Ministry Study Center, a position he has been serving in for the past year in conjunction with completing his duties in the conference office.

Representatives from the Atlantic Union Conference were present and participated in various aspects of the meeting. Donald King, Atlantic Union Conference president, served as the chair of the organizing and nominating committees as required by the constitution and bylaws; Carlyle Simmons, Atlantic Union Conference executive secretary, was invited to assist as chair of the meeting; Leon Thomassian, Atlantic Union Conference treasurer, and the Atlantic Union staff, assisted with the ballot counting; vice presidents Dionisio Olivo and Pierre Omeler assisted with the caucus to select the Hispanic and Haitian ethnic ministries coordinators, respectively. In addition, North American Division representatives Alvin Kibble, vice president, and Tom Evans, treasurer, participated in various aspects of the meeting.

The Atlantic Union Conference administrators and staff pray for God's guidance for the Greater New York Conference administrators, departmental directors, ethnic ministries coordinators, and the various committees as they begin their work for the new quadrennial, serving the more than 27,507 members who worship in 149 churches and 20 companies, eight schools and one academy, and the various community services and other ministries in conference's territory.
