Dear Dr. Smith
Dear Dr. Smith,
I am always worried and sad these days, I think I am ‘lacking love’ and without any reason, I am always sad and lonely. Please help.
Remember what the Bible says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Phil 4:6 NIV) Also, remember one of the most know text in the Bible, Jn 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God loves you, and even if there was no one in this whole wide world that loves you, God still loves you.
However, I don't think there is no one that loves you. That is impossible. Every human being on the earth has at least one person that loves him/her. I therefore encourage you to find that person or persons that love you and relate to them. If you do, the feeling of ‘lacking love’ will subside. Stop being sad, that is a learnt behavior, and anything that is learnt can be unlearnt. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and stars, you have a right to be here, stop feeling sad and lonely.
Start counting your blessings one by one and you will be amazed to see the many good things that are going for you. Look on the bright side of life, you have life, and I think health and strength to go with it. I somehow believe that your “lacking love” feeling is as a result of not having a meaningful relationship. Kindly remember, that happiness is not just externally caused, it must first be internal. If you are not happy with yourself, you will not make someone else happy.
Instead of worrying, I think you should “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths” (Pro 3:5). Seek to form meaningful relationships with families or friends and that will take the loneliness away. Keep a song in your heart and a song on your lips and that will drive the sadness way.
God bless and I will be praying for you.
