On Sunday morning, May 3, 2015, a van carrying members of the Bethesda French Seventh-day Adventist Church was involved in an accident after leaving the Greater New York Conference Men's Prayer Convention in Ellenville, New York. As a result of the accident, three members of the church died from their injuries, three were hospitalized, and one was released. The accident is under investigation by the State Police. Counseling is being provided for the families and members of the church as needed.

Mario Estivern Snr is still hospitalized. Ariel Regis, Mario Estivern Jr. and Guepson Gue was released from the hospital and are home.
Dr. G. Earl Knight, president of the Greater New York Conference expressed his condolence to the family of the bereaved and asks that the conference membership lift up these individuals in the hospital in prayer and also the family members of all affected by this tragedy. Dr. Alanzo Smith, ministerial, family life and men's ministries director, along with several other pastors from the Franco Haitian community are visiting the family members and assisting with counseling services.
