Barthelemy elected new ministerial director and appointed men's ministries director
Dr. Reginald R. Barthelemy is a native born of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Growing up as a boy, he was exposed to different denominations where he attended church every Saturday and every Sunday.  Though he was just a child he knew from the start the truth and the light. Many of his friends used to call him “pastor” as he was always sharing God’s words.  He received his calling to the ministry when he was a child, but he believes that GOD chose him and set him apart before he was born. During his teen years, he joined the pathfinder club at Temple Adventist in Port-au-Prince, and began sharing the love of God with his friends and their parents.    

He attended Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas, where he graduated with a Bachelor in theology. He received his M.Div. in 1999 and also earned a Doctor of Ministry in leadership in 2013 from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He has also earned a graduate certificate in business administration from the University of Montemorelos, Mexico. He is currently pursuing a bi-lingual Ph.D. degree in business administration at the same university.
Barthelemy is an ordained minister. He has been in pastoral ministry for the past twenty years in the Greater New York Conference where he has been serving as pastor of districts, stewardship director and is currently serving as ministerial secretary and men’s ministries director. He is an international evangelist who enjoys proclaiming the love of God to all nations and peoples.

He is married to the former Chirlene Leconte, a trained vocational and guidance counselor. Their union was blessed with three children, Nehemiah Joshua 13, Gabriel Uriah 10 and Priscilla Josephine 4. 

His ministry is best accurately described in Isaiah 61:1-2, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Dr. Barthelemy loves God with all his heart and his neighbor as himself. He is looking forward to meeting His loving Lord and Savior, Jesus-Christ face to face and hearing from His lips, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”
Peguero-Colon elected new family life director

Samuel Peguero is a husband, father, and a ordain minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who enjoys sharing with people how God can give a purpose to their families. He was born in Dominican Republic in a 4th generation Adventist home. Ever since he was a child, God called him to serve in his local church. When he was an elementary and high school student, so classmates, single people, and couples in the church and from the community used to come to him with questions and looking for advise about their relationships. The Lord used him in so many ways to share hope in Jesus for those people with emotional needs. 

As part of his educational journey, Pastor Samuel Peguero completed his bachelor’s degree in Theology at Dominican Adventist University in 1995. After that, he did a master’s degree of Arts in Family Relationships at Montemorelos Adventist University, Mexico, in 2001. Then, in 2005, at the school of medicine of Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, he completed a Specialty in Marriage Therapy.  In 2012, Peguero graduated as a Doctor of Ministry in Family Life, from Andrews University. 

During his years in pastoral ministry, by the grace of God, Samuel Peguero has ministered 32 churches, planted 8 new congregations, and more than 1,500 souls has been baptized. To God be the glory! Initially, for 10 years, he was Pastor in Dominican Central Conference, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic,. After that, in 2005 God called him to serve for 7 years in Kentucky, as pastor and field secretary for South Central Conference.  Later, by 2012 he accepted the call to join the ministerial body of the Greater New York Conference, serving the Mott Haven Spanish & Emmanuel Spanish as Senior Pastor. 

Dr. Samuel Peguero is the author of several books, including 2 in both languages, Spanish and English: “Spark Up Your Marriage” and the best seller in Spanish “For Young Lovers” – soon to be published in English. Also, he has published a variety of resources for family life in audio, DVD’s and power point. For more than 10 years he has been presenting family life programs for 3ABN Latino and radio. In the Caribbean, North America, and South America more than 3,500 couples has renewed their vows through the programs conducted by Dr. Peguero. Because his contributions on family life, he was recognized by American Biographical Institute, Cambridge Biographical Centre, UK, and Cambridge Who’s Who Among America. In 2008 was nominated as Man of the Year, by American Biographical Institute. 

Currently, Peguero is a member of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and Adventist Association of Family Life Professionals (AAFLP). He promotes functional families for the Kingdom of heaven. With his beloved wife Wirdis and his daughters, Lisbeth & Angie wants to share hope in Jesus for many families in New York and beyond.
Kapusi ELECTED NEW Stewardship director

Anton Kapusi was born in former Yugoslavia as the second son of an inventor, electro engineer and a younger brother of a Seventh-day Adventist pastor. Kapusi grew up in a secular-atheist surrounding and Roman Catholic home and got acquainted with the Bible at around age 11. This became his greatest interest and life dedication and at age 15 got baptized and became a Seventh-day Adventist.

After completing high school at the Adventist Academy in Marusevec and an electro engineering degree in Varazdin Croatia, he received quite few encouragements from Conference and Union leaders to do theology.

Kapusi served as a pastor in several districts in former Yugoslavia where he pioneered in church planting and was the youngest evangelist. During the eight years of civil war he was a regional ADRA director working in conflict areas. He organized ethnic church groups at Newbold College in England and served as Pastor-missionary in Irish Mission of the British Union Conference. In 2007 he received a call from GNYC where he worked in different churches and is presently working at the  Livingston, Kingston and Kinderhook churches. He just finished with the construction of the Kinderhook church as the first certified passive-house church building in North America.

Kapusi is a graduate of the Electromechanical School of Varazdin Croatia, Adventist Theological Seminary in Marusevec, Croatia and holds MA in Pastoral Ministry from Newbold College in England, UK.

Kapusi is married to Erika, a certified bookkeeper and master gardener, the love of his life and greatest support of his ministry. They have two children Noemi (Andrews University graduate) and Thomas (Andrews University student).

Pastor Kapushi’s passion is to teach, preach, counsel and coach people in their life journey to their full potential spiritually, emotionally and physically. His greatest love is the Gospel as it is in Jesus that he has implemented to all aspects of his ministry. He is looking forward to the glorious appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Manzueta Elected New Youth Director
Pastor Ariel Manzueta has been in ministry for the last twelve years. He has served as Bible teacher in Puerto Rico and as district pastor for various congregations in Puerto Rico, Bermuda, and New York. While in Puerto Rico he developed a passion for youth ministry after being asked to be a Bible teacher and chaplain for a local Adventist Academy. Since then, he has been involved in speaking to youth groups in different settings, events, and countries.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Theology from Antillean Adventist University and a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University with emphasis in family life education. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctorate degree in missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary with a focus on Second-generation Millennials.
He is passionate about urban mission, youth ministry, and Church planting, having planted churches in every country where he has been. He enjoys evangelism and believes that the best evangelism strategy is Adventist education. He is a visionary leader and a team player that enjoys diversity.
He has been married to the love of his life Merley Manzueta for the last 12 years. The couple has been blessed with two handsome boys Jariel and Jamil Ariel, 10 and 6 year old respectively; and a happy noisy dog, Goldie.
He enjoys reading, running with the dog, playing tennis, long road trips, playing basketball and swimming with the boys, taking on new challenges and adventures, and spending quality time with his wife.
Pastor Manzueta’s life is guided by the principles found in Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me....”
Dr. Alanzo Smith worked in the Greater New York Conference in several capacities. He  pastored the Hempstead, Grand Concourse, Tabernacle of Joy, New Life, First Ghana, New Haven, Dunamis and Victory churches. He served as the Conference Director  in Family Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Communication, Sabbath School, Personal Ministry and as Ministerial Secretary. His ministry also includes working as an Evangelist, and an adjunct professor at Andrews University.
He is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and a Psychotherapist. Dr. Smith, the writer, has authored five books, and a plethora of professional articles. As an Evangelist, he has conducted successful evangelistic campaigns in the U.S., Canada, Africa, Europe, and the West Indies, baptizing thousands of souls for God’s kingdom.
In 2007, he received the North America Division Award for outstanding leadership in Family Ministries. In 2010, he and his wife Dr. June Smith were given the “The Distinguish Service Award” for contribution to Family Ministry in North America.
He is host to the programs “Marriage in God’s Hands” and “Families 4 Heaven” where both he and his wife have appeared on 3ABN and Hope TV as presenters.
His wife, Dr. June Smith, is a tenured Professor at Long Island University. Their children Drs. Marvin and Waitline Williams made them the proud grandparents of four-year old Marlanzo.
Dr. Smith’s goal in life is to make disciples of men and to help them function in adaptive ways. As such, he has spent his life ministering to individuals, families, and communities on building healthy relationships and surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ.
Dr. Smith’s greatest desire is to stay in the center of God’s as he submits himself to be a vessel in His hands.

Pastor Henry Beras is a second-generation Seventh-day Adventist who has served the church for the last twenty-four years in different capacities including academy Bible teacher, church district pastor, Conference stewardship director, and personal ministries director. At the age of 30, he became the youngest conference president in the Inter-American Division when he was selected to lead a conference in the Dominican Republic. He has been ministering in the Greater New York Conference for the last 11 years where he has served as district pastor, president of the Hispanic Ministry Association of the Atlantic Union Conference and Executive Secretary.

Pastor Beras is a visionary leader, team player, and people’s person who takes satisfaction in serving others and enjoys working with people of different ethnic groups. He is passionate about evangelism and is and avid supporter of the youth.

Pastor Beras has a Master degree in Family relationships from Montemorelos University, and an MA in Pastoral Ministry from Andrews University. Currently, he is working on a D.Min. degree in leadership from Andrews University.
He enjoys spending time with the love of his life Angela, to whom he has been married for the last twenty-two years, and his children Henry Jr. and Heidy, a speech pathology student at Andrews University.
